Scholastic Scholarship - $1,500.00 As a way promoting the continuing education of our membership, the Alabama Hunter Jumper Association annually awards up to two $1,500.00 educational scholarships to members of the AHJA. Available to all graduating high school seniors, these scholarships are granted on the basis of academic achievement, service to the community, and an active involvement with horses. Additional emphasis will be placed on financial need. The following lists the specific requirements for application: The applicant must: 1. Be a current Alabama Hunter Jumper Association member in good standing 2. Have actively participated in the AHJA events within the past two years. 3. Have maintained a high school G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher 4. Plan on attending college or a higher learning institution and/or program 5. Complete no less than three (3) hours of volunteer service to either an AHJA sanctioned horseshow, or to a non-profit charitable program 6. Complete sections 1-7 of the application form, and submit before deadline 7. Submit three (3) recommendation letters (non-family members only). Must include: Academic, Equine related, and a Personal recommendation 8. Complete the questionnaire and two (2) essay questions 9. Submit a copy of your official high school transcripts.
In addition to the above, the applicant will be required to appear before an interview board. We invite all graduating seniors who meet the requirements set forth above to apply for this scholarship. AHJA 2010 Educational Grant Application
